The Exercise & Sports Science Club is a
pre-professional registered student organization residing in the College
of Education, Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation,
and operating out of Jowers Center just across the San Marcos River. The ESS Club's primary functions are to promote the Health, Physical Education and Recreation fields as well as support students majoring or minoring in Exercise and Sports Science. The ESS Club was established March 25th, 1992 and has remained an active, registered student organization in good standing with the University since its inception. Members of the ESS Club volunteer regularly in both community and university events as well as attend state and national professional events such as the annual TAHPERD Convention. Annual community and university service projects include the San Marcos Fall River Clean Up and Bobcat Build as well as other local events. The upcoming year is shaping up to be a very exciting one for the ESS Club. The new Executive Board of the ESS Club is bringing in a fresh perspective and is looking to engage ESS Students in new ways that will promotes field awareness and provides the tools and support necessary to engage the University and Public sectors.
